Melodie KG:
the owner and Principal of Orange Cap Consultation.

Facilitating justice, one relationship at a time.

Melodie KG leads Orange Cap Consultation, a one-person consulting outfit committed to advancing equity through trauma-informed facilitation, nonprofit capacity-building, and inclusive community engagement design.

I work alongside nonprofits, government agencies, philanthropies, and corporate initiatives to confront systemic harm, uplift marginalized voices, and co-create pathways toward justice and belonging. My work is rooted in building authentic relationships that lead to lasting, community-centered change.

I do this work to help transform how institutions engage with communities—through care-centered facilitation, intentional relationship-building, and strategies rooted in justice.

Orange Cap celebrates the human experience. We apply the following principles in our work:

Healing-Centered Harm Reduction

Harm Reduction is a term first used in the context of drug use, to describe the practice of keeping people alive through mutual aid and resource-sharing. Orange Cap embodies healing-centered harm reductive practices, as outlined by Reframe Health & Justice, and embeds them across domains of social justice.

Targeted Universalism

Targeted Universalism is an evolving approach to social sector work, emphasizing universal goals with targeted approaches to accomplishing those goals. Using the approaches of targeted universalism, Orange Cap helps organizations create equitable, results-driven programming and internal tools.

Anti-Racism

DEI work is about more than learning terms and avoiding microaggressions— it’s a continual practice of engaging in self-reflection and requires discomfort.
